INDIGEBOX

Indigenous Visioning is proud to present INDIGEBOX - an educational subscription box for early childhood learning environments (child care, preschool, Head Start, etc.) filled with early learning tools that will benefit programs serving American Indian children.  INDIGEBOX is specific to Ojibwe values and customs. However, a goal is to create subscription boxes to include more diverse cultures in the near future.

Dear Indigebox Customers,

We want to thank you for your support over the years. The Indigebox team are busy planning and preparing the Fall Indigebox. We are working on additions such as; a family friendly version, a Family Child Care option, incorporating Minnesota’s Early Learning Standards, High Scope, previous Spring, Summer, Fall and Winter Indigeboxes and al ’carte options.

We are excited to work with Dr. Layna Cole, Professor of Early Childhood and cultural consultants to ensure you are receiving the most authentic and impactful culture in the classroom tool. The Indigebox team would love to hear from you on what you would like to see in the new and improved Indigebox, feel free to reach out or send us an email at: info@allnationsrise.com.

For this reason, we will not be creating a Summer 2024 Indigebox, to allow the Indigebox team time to plan and prepare for the Fall box.  We apologize for any inconvenience, but we want to ensure you and your students are receiving the best experience possible. You are still able to order Spring, 2024, Fall 2023 and Winter 2023, that are still relevant, which is why we are bringing all the former Indigeboxes back.

Chii Miigwech for your continued support and feel free to contact us with any questions.

The Indigebox Team

What is INDIGEBOX?

Indigebox is an early learning “culture in the classroom” toolkit.

Indigebox supports early childhood (childcare, EHS/HS, preschool, elementary) teachers in bringing authentic cultural awareness into their classroom by nurturing cultural differences and celebrating diversity. Indigebox provides classrooms with the knowledge of customs through a series of lesson plan/activities that are based on the cultural values, seasonal customs, and activities of tribal communities, past and present. Indigebox has primarily focused on the Northern Anishinaabeg people (Ojibwe) the past two years but hope to expand to the Dakota/Lakota in the coming year. All of the cultural activities with each Indigebox are aligned with developmental outcomes that teachers are required to track and document.

INDIGEBOX is a wonderful resource that will allow teachers and their students to explore Ojibwe values and customs in any early learning setting complete with lesson activities that meet early childhood criteria. INDIGEBOX is offered four (4) times a year and shipped out on a quarterly basis. Each INDIGEBOX is designed for a classroom of 20 children and includes:

A minimum of four Activity Pages related to the seasonal theme
A variety of materials that can be used with the lesson activities
A book based on a seasonal theme
An indigenous art item
A teacher appreciation gift
A resource magazine

PRICING, SUBSCRIPTIONS + SHIPPING

INDIGEBOX can be ordered each season at $140.00 a box. Shipping is included in the price.

ACTIVITY PAGES

The Activity Pages were developed to assist the teacher in adding a variety of developmentally appropriate activities to their lesson plans. Each Activity Page is geared toward a developmental subject such as literacy, math, science, art and other early learning content areas. The pages include instructions and materials needed for the activity along with developmental outcomes that are based on the Teaching Strategies Gold Observation and Assessment Tool. Activity Pages are geared toward preschool aged children but can easily be adapted to younger or older age groups.
