FOR THE COMMUNITY

Indigenous Visioning was established with a mission to help build stronger tribal communities through local, regional, statewide and national partnerships. Indigenous Visioning is a native-owned organization that not only wants to support tribal communities and partnerships, but to positively impact the experiences of children in early childhood settings within tribal communities. We understand that tribes are the experts in knowing their community needs and how to address those needs in a way that aligns with our cultural values. Efforts to meet these needs must be led by the tribal community.

Diversity and inclusiveness are important ingredients for a healthy vibrant society. Indigenous communities are an asset in helping to build a global perspective that weaves this understanding into a positive world view.

Indigenous Visioning has years of experience working with tribal communities because we are from tribal communities. While there are many positives happening, we also realize tribal communities face many challenges, such as health and mental health disparities, alcohol and substance abuse, child abuse and neglect, food insecurities, lack of identity, and more.

Although these are large obstacles, Indigenous Visioning knows there are many good things that are happening throughout Indian Country. We need to build off these good things. In order to make meaningful differences in communities, tribal communities need that extra support of resources and partnerships that can supplement the good work that is already happening. Only then will we be able to reduce the barriers and challenges Tribal communities face.

We also understand that tribes are the experts in knowing their community needs and how to address those needs in a way that aligns with our cultural values.
